US stocks muted at open as US-China trade talks in focus
Wall Street’s main indexes opened subdued on Tuesday as investors awaited the outcome of ongoing trade talks between the United States and China aimed at cooling a tariff dispute that has bruised global markets this year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 23.5 points, or 0.05%, at the open to 42,738.27. The S&P 500 rose 4.0 points, or 0.07%, at the open to 6,009.91, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 28.9 points, or 0.15%, to 19,620.108 at the opening bell.
