Recap, Highlights, & Analysis: Real Madrid Femenino 3-2 Real Sociedad; Supercopa de España Femenina 2025

Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad with the result 3-2 to qualify for their first-ever Supercopa de España Femenina finals. Below are my thoughts and views on the match.

  • Misa started on goal. Shei and Olga started on fullbacks, with Méndez and Lakrar as the CB duo. It was Toletti and Leupolz as the pivot duo with Angeldahl in the winger role on the right side. Linda took the other wing, while Weir acted as #10 and Bruun led the attack.

On the other side, a former Real Madrid player Lucía Rodríguez started as the left CB, while Lorena Navarro started on the bench.

Las Blancas took an early lead in 4’ with an action through the left side. Txuri-urdin began attacking right after the goal came, they got 2 good chances in the following 4 minutes. La Real equalized in the 10th minute.

After the equalizer, Las Blancas took control of the game. All action took place through the left-hand side and it was as if the right side never even existed.

In 27’ Leupolz had to be subbed off due to injury and Athenea got on instead. This substitution resulted in Linda moving to the RW while Athenea took the LW role. For a little while, it looked like it didn’t matter who played on which side since the white club continued moving through the left. As soon as the white team began attacking from the right, the second goal was scored, and the action went through none other than Linda Caicedo. The white club went to the halftime on a lead.

In the second half, Angeldahl moved to play on the left but aside from that, there were no changes at halftime. Real Madrid dominated the second half until the last 10 minutes which were affected by the triple substitution in 81’. In 89’ Lorena Navarro scored a goal that was annulled for a foul in attack given by a teammate. There was a penalty shout in the added time, then came Amaiur’s second goal in the fifth added minute. Alba Redondo had to be attended by the medical team a minute after the goal for 3-2 and more time was added. La Real used it to get close to the goal, and managed a late corner as well, but in the end the equalizer never came.

  • 4’: GOAL (1-0) by Caroline Weir: A brilliant action on the left side and a combination Linda-Olga-Bruun in the box, which was saved, but Weir was in position to get the rebound in front of the goal.
  • 10’: GOAL (1-1) by Amaiur Sarriegi: Nerea Eizagirre sent a long ball from the back to unmarked Amaiur. She beat Misa 1-on-1 and Méndez didn’t manage to block the shot which ended as the equalizer.
  • 37’ GOAL (2-1) by Filippa Angeldahl: the action started from the back by Shei moving horizontally. She moved it forward to Weir who found Linda Caicedo on the RW. The Colombian got the ball into the box and passed it back to Angeldal who was in a great spot to shoot.
  • 71’: GOAL (3-1) by Linda Caicedo: a solo action from the Colombian winger. A brilliant carry through half of the pitch to beat Lete 1-on-1 and make it 3-1.
  • 90+5’: GOAL (3-2) by Amaiur Sarriegi: a long ball sent by Lucía reached Mirari in the box who did a header assist to Amaiur for a header goal.

Another final on Estadio Municipal de Butarque, this time in the Supercup and this time in El Clásico. Can Las Blancas get their first Clásico win and trophy?
