PayPal down LIVE: Company suffers global outage due to ‘system issue’

PayPal says the issue is affecting Retail Checkout and Braintree, which are key services used by both consumers and businesses to process payments.

In a message posted on its status page, PayPal said: “We are experiencing a system issue that may be affecting PayPal Online Checkout in our production environment.

“Our technical teams are actively working towards resolving the issue.”

The issue is marked as global and remains ongoing.
