Vinícius Jr Will Create Educational and Cultural Hub for São Gonçalo

In his ongoing philanthropic pursuits, Real Madrid and Brazil football star Vinícius Junior is set to invest 3.3 million to transform a deactivated public school in São Gonçalo into a vibrant center for education, sports, and culture. The project, spearheaded by the Vini Júnior Institute, will breathe new life into the former Ciep 040 Porto do Rosa Intercultural Brazil-Russia school, which has been closed for nearly a decade.

The initiative will repurpose the land, granted to the Vinícius Júnior Institute following a competitive public call, into a hub designed to benefit the local community. The institute’s plans include extensive renovations and the creation of a multifunctional space that aims to serve up to 5,000 people from the surrounding area.

The project underscores Vinícius Júnior’s commitment to his roots. Growing up in the Porto do Rosa neighborhood, the Real Madrid player has chosen to invest in his hometown, aligning with his vision of promoting educational opportunities and cultural enrichment. The revamped facility will offer free programs and activities, including educational workshops, sports training, and cultural events.
